good loking fj andy.those sliders are really nice,a couple of questions for you.are the sliders powder coated, are the ones you have bolt on or welded to the frame?

Guns kill people like spoons made Rosie O'Donnell Fat
Do they take the weight of the vehicle? Not bashing your new sliders, just curious if you can jack it up on the sliders with out them flexing up into the rocker panel.

Are the sliders bolted or welded? (I saw bolts in one of the pictures)
At around 300, I am seriously considering these - are they as strong as the stockers? (The stockers can withstand being used as a jacking point to lift one side of the vehicle)

that's the real question....since they to extend quite a bit further out than the factory rock rails there is gonna be more leverage. The tubes look fine but it's gonna depend on the mounts, no?
T4ruuner: thank you. I wonder how that thing drives on the street.
The whole point of a rock slider is to protect the rocker panel. So if they are made right they are not gonna flex and hit the rocker pannels. Pretty much any quality aftermarket slider is going to be better than the factory Toyota ones by virtue of better welds. If you peek underneath the stock one, you will notice a lot of the welds are only half finished.

Interesting....do other folks with the stock RRs also notice this? (the welds). My point is that the stock sliders are tucked in much more, so when they are pushed up by a rock the presseure on the mount is gonna be alot less. But these (bentup) look alot better and can almost double as a running board.
In reseraching on the web I find that in fact there is a big variation in the quality and design of sliders
I guess we need Andy to stick a high-lift jack under one side and see what happens.
I think its a good thing for a slider to stick out more (within reason) compared to the factory ones. By sticking out more, it keeps rocks farther away from the body.
