Hey, I'm thinking of doing this Mod, but the first thing I'll likely check while under my FJ is if I flooded the differential already. I haven't drained one on a car before. Do you have any advice on that; Oil type, volume, etc?

First off, I see by your post count, your a new member, Welcome
As far as your question goes, unless you have been in some very deep water alot lately, I wouldn't think you would need to change the fluid unless it got contaminated. Check your manual for the type of fluid.
