What material are those colored breathers made of? I guess what I mean to ask is it something that needs to stay dry? Looks like a mini K & N air filter.

have, and I can't get thetime or cash to
do them up...

Thats what they look like up close too, very well put together, it apears that they are cloth If so, you can add a little oil just like the large K&N filters

You could, I didn't; it fit snug. No water is going to get in there as long as the hose clamp is tight
