Re: SCUBA Driver Transmission, Transfer Case, Rear Differential & E-Locker Breather M

if you look right along the side of the engine bay there is 2 breathers connected together just at the bottom of the inner fender well inside the compartment. with 2 shiny caps on them. i believe these are what they are talking about

No.

Grab a flashlight. Look RIGHT on top of the transmission housing. Look by standing on the passenger side and look right behind the engine. You should see the silver transmission housing with a couple of hoses on it.

Now step on a step stool and feel around in there. You'll only be able to get your left hand in there.
The transmission one kind of has a bracket keeping it right on top of the trans housing but you can feel the plastic cap.
The TC one is a smaller hose that is free, and you should be able to pull it a bit closer and maybe even get a second hand on it. I did.

What are you referring to on the driver's side, Mike?

Re: SCUBA Driver Transmission, Transfer Case, Rear Differential & E-Locker Breather MOD

You need to relocate four breathers altogether. The rear diff and the e-locker from the rear of the FJ,
and the transfer case (existing 1/8" hose) and automatic transmission (1/4" hose with plastic breather) which are both lying on top of the transmission housing.

there is 2 breathers for something on the driverside just above fender level strapped together, between the engine and fender they have the same fittings as the rear diff does. sorry fo the delay had to make a grocery run for the wife.

If they are already up high I would not worry about them. ...one of them is probably the front diff? I'm not sure.
