Re: MissFJ's Project SFA
Very interesting and I wish you success!
I've never viewed the FJ as a great vehicle to make into an extreme rock crawler, but I guess do.
I see the FJ as more of an extreme adventure/safari vehicle. That's why it fits me and my off-road style so well.
I do think you'll end up needing a trailer and diesel p/u to haul it around to the trailheads.

I know she has the diesel taken care of, she's going to have to fight for space on the trailer with the **** that lives there.

Wow.....it's happening faster than I figured. Won't be long before FJCs are on all the trails everyone else is running. Congrats. Should be really cool.

Did you just call me a trailer queen?
I know lots of SFA converts that drive there rigs everywhere...to the trails (in different states even) and back.
I've gone very far with my IFS and now will go even farther
I've outgrown it. I don't plan on going crazy on the rocks. Going places without stacking would be nice.

Re: MissFJ's Project SFA
Is the 44 out of something or is it brand new? What are you doing about the front brakes and the 15"s? Give us some details!
You are a brave soul...

Axle is out of a late 70's ford, used, hence the new bearings etc. Using the brakes that are currently on the axle. 3" backspacing on the MRW's.
Oh, and most importantly, they are going to be white wheels...
