Desert Armor Custom Front Bumper:

Hey everyone, I just got my new custom bumper from my friends fabrication shop. I love it!!!
The winch mount, Bumper Skit plate (condenser/radiator cover plates), and light mounts have not been made yet but are in the works. bumper has been fitted for a 9.5xp and fits good just need to get the details figured out...
Let me know what you think, he is very interested in mass producing the bumper. A rear bumper is in the works too!

With radiator protective plate and grill.
The lower protective plate ties in the bars nicely and is a 1/8" steel diamond plate.
The grill in the main area is a 1/8" gill with the same shape and size diamonds as the factory gill. This plate is optional and can be replaced with a diamond steel plate or winch mount.

Notice the lower bar being one continuous bar from side to side, protecting not only the suspension but also the lowest part of the radiator. This bar also gives extra strength to support the bumper and can act as a 'rock slider' in the front.
The approach angle is much better than most bumpers and provides plenty of space in between the bumper and body.
The main bar also goes from side to side even protecting the plastic fenders. The center bar is not only for support but will provide a crucial mounting point for the winch mount soon to come.
Material: 1 3/4" .12 wall Steel Tubing and 1/4 steel mounting plate. Currently weighs around 50 pounds.

Winch mount bumper:

Re: Desert Armor Custom Front Bumper:

looks really really cool...
I really want to see it with lights...that will really give the Baja Look..
Go for the Lightforce lights, very nice on everything I have seen...

It looks like you got a nice approach angle also, very cool.
The reason I went with the ARB bumper was the full coverage bull bar around the front, plenty of coverage for the sidemarker lights.

So what is the wgt, that is 1 reason I would consider changing bumpers would be to lighten the front load.

Keep us posted

Re: Desert Armor Custom Front Bumper:

Sweet bumper Pumbaa - he's gonna sell a lot of those.

Sure is an awesome approach angle from the side there. Good pics.

Is he gonna do a winch tray in there, or is there not enough room? I am gonna guess he will have to pull it all forward a little bit to get one on there.

thank you that means a lot coming from you!

We measured for a Warn 9.5xp and had a Warn 12K on hand to check. the goal is to have the winch in the bumper and protected... we are thinking of the Warn Universal mounting plate and weld it right in...
