Did you suggest to All Pro to add the access spots to facilitate the install?
Not directly, but assuming that they're a concerned vendor, they must've read my All-Pro threads by now.

Steve, thanks for the comparison, I pulled the trigger on the warn and haven't regretted it. I just like the old school look of it. I also like the extra brackets to mount fog and running lights. Will be putting ome coils on the front end to get the front end level again.

Re: Side-By-Side Winch Bumper Comparison - Warn vs. All-Pro (pics)

Did the installation time for Warn vs All Pro include the time to install the winch? I helped THUBUB a Forum member (and friend of Terry Baker from All Pro) install a Warn 8000 in an All Pro bumber last weekend and it's a very tight squeeze. It required manufacture of a special bracket, and four hands to get it put together. Time: About 4 hours. I'm sure that Warn's open access to the winch in the bumper would be an easier install...or is it?

You bet, Hog.

Yep, the Warn bumper does have that "classic" look about it that I've always liked. I would've hung on to mine if it wasn't for the mounting problems my particular FJ had. You won't regret pulling the trigger in that direction.

Larry, yes, I included the winch installation time within the total install time. Even though the winch only took about 5-10 minutes to drop into the open winch tray, the majority of the Warn's installation were the supplemetal brackets and required fabrication to complete the job.

I didn't have the same problems that THUBUB did getting the M8000 into the All-Pro (about an hour or so) once I rotated the clutch assembly around to match the front opening on the bumper. However, the nearly-impossible part was getting to those two foward mounting bolts on the winch itself.

As I mentioned earlier, All-Pro should've provided access holes from underneath to get a socket extension up in there.
