What size should I use? (biggest size that will fit preferred)

Recommend at least 3/4" or 4 3/4 ton WLL

3/4 shackles will work but if you want my opinion use the 7/8 shackle.

The 3/4 shackles are really loose and rattle alot. Besides I think it looks better with a beefier shackle. I had 3/4 and just replaced them with 7/8 much better now
