removing bumpers

Does anyone know if you remove the stock bumper to fit some of these aftermarket bush bumpers?? And if so what happens to the airbag sensors?
Some of the pictures look like they have been removed and now have a better approach angle.
Thanks

Re: removing bumpers

Yes you have to remove the stock bumper to mount any of the aftermarket ones. Unless you just get one of the cheesy brush guards. I haven't checked on my FJ as far as airbag sensors go, but my miata had the sensors mounted to parts of the chassis. You can take off the bumper and still have active airbags. My guess is that the FJ is the same. Don't want the airbag going off in a mild fender bender.

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.

Here are pictures from Angry Andy while he was putting on his Bentup.com bumper, and pictures of the sensors as well.
