Re: Mount for high-lift jack on rack?

The 4xrac is what I'm planning on using. I'm going to bolt it to some flat plates on the opposite side of the roof rack. That way it clamps down tight around the rack. I'm just a little nervous about wind noise.

Re: Mount for high-lift jack on rack?

I have been working on this problem for a couple of days. I think I am going to attach it to the fron bumper. There is a steel frame that runs the length of the lower half and I think it would look mean mounted there...at least that will be temporary until I have the ARB put on next year.

I looked at the mounts pictured above and they seem like they will stick out too far from the roof rack. I think if I decide to mount it up there (still a possibility) I will use U-bolts and a steel plate to secure it within an inch or so of the rack.

Re: Mount for high-lift jack on rack?

Already had the Yakima Hi-Lift mount that is made for the load warrior basket. I had my local offroad shop mod it to work with the stock rack.

If you are looking for something to fit on the rack and not basket.. then check here:

Just buy that hi-lift mount and then go and find a yakima mighty mount that fits the FJ. For the 03+ 4runners it was a mighty mount 10V.

Mine works like a champ!!

Sorry, I should have said that I already "OWN" the Yakima Hi-Lift MOUNT. It was $70 so I couldn't just throw it away. Those pictures are of it modified to fit MY FJ rack and it installed. Can't have the Hi-Lift taking up room inside of the rack. Need all the room for camping gear.

Can you post a close up view of how the Hi-Lift attaches to that braket please?

Vansmack,
Some pics for you. The bracket mounts with 4 bolts. Two of them are also used for the HI-Lift. Very solid and I don't need to lock it.
