I searched and got a lot of results, so sorry if its been asked before.
Is the factory hitch any good? Anything better? Opinions?
I dont plan on towing anything big, but maybe occasionally pull a stuck vehicle free.
i tow my heavy wakeboarding boat with the stock one. i am perfectly happy with it, and if you get the OEM one it should come with the nice looking trim panel. if you go aftermarket go draw-tite
Great timing, guys, I was about to get a hitch, thanks. I think I'll get the OEM, then... it certainly looks better.
This is one of the greatest reasons to belong to this fraternity... where else can you get such up-to-date, first hand info on our great rides?

I have the factory OEM hitch (the REAL deal, not the U-haul aftermarket types that some distributors put on) and it works just fine. I pulled my parents camper down to Myrtle Beach from Cincinnati with no problems.
OEM is Class III. Plenty for what you need and has the best clearance of all the hitch's. Only complaint is that it doesn't come with a 7-pin option, only the flat 4-pin.

go oem, the others lower your decent angle clearance.

For it shall pass.
If to do were as easy as to know what were good to do,
Chapels had been churches, and poor mans cottages, princes’ palaces.
Every normal man must be tempted at times to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin to slit throats.

did you guys get a brake controler installed at the dealer also or did you set up your self?
With the outrageous prices that dealerships typically charge for accessory installation, I would do it myself. I've done a number of DIY brake controller installs on various trucks and it's a relatively easy procedure.
