Hi-lift mount...is this horse dead yet?

I fabricated a custon mount using TNEGIET's basic design but using all welded SS 1/2" hardware. I had to bring the mount position farther from the rack to accomidate my surf racks. The only thing I'll probably change will be to use "T" handles instead of the knobs just to get it on tighter. Haven't had any problems with it coming loose though. I only have it mounted when I'm going somewhere I might need it so no need for a lock. Those roll bar clamps are sweet, you can mount just about anything to them! kb

VERY nice job, grayp-ape!! But, I just wish those clamps (all total) didn't cost more than the Hi-Lift itself.

Where did you buy them and how much?? Also, are they available in black or did you have to paint them?

Re: Hi-lift mount...is this horse dead yet?

Thanks guys, yeah the clamps are super cheap and strong. The whole set-up only cost me about $20.00 minus the clamps, (welded myself but SS is expensive!) I'm sure if you use regular hardware it would be a lot cheaper.

Looks like a very nice job!

One small suggestion is maybe see if you could flip the Hi-lift over so the prong aims down.

I used to carry mine that way and it was always a problem going into the woods. It always wants to catch on things instead of letting them slide off.
