Damn, I thought I was going to be one of the first ...or second, or maybe third....I guess I'll have to settle for 10th or 20th Just as long as I get mine!
You are the First Shad'.. With a fernco adapter and TRD intake !...
Well Corey, you could always sell me yours, then I could "show" you how to do the install on my rig, then give you mine when it comes in a few weeks
He he, I would, but I am on stand-by right now.
My mechanic could be calling me any day now between now and the 2nd week of November to come in.
Looks like I will be swinging by the dealer this week to get those things that hold the plastic inner fender on, and some brush on Rustoleum paint, that is if it comes that way.
Yep, you need about 10 of the plastic anchors that hold the plastic inner fender shroud on. The easiest way to remove them is to take a sharp wood chisel and just cut the exposed heads off from inside the wheel well. There really is no other way to remove them. Yes, rustoleum comes in small cans that you can brush from. I used a round file to deburr the holes then just a few swipes with some emery cloth, then paint just the exposed edges. I cut the large breather access hole with a 4" hole saw purchased at Home Depot for about $26.00. You will also need to get the proper arbor for the hole saw, It was about nine bucks or so. That is the total investment in specialty tools. Installed it for about $40.00. It is really not a difficult process, took me about 1/3 of a bottle of "Grey Goose". (the only time reference I have). If anyone has further inquiries you can mail me at Micrad2@yahoo.com or visit me on the bandit board. Good Luck !
Thanks, will have to pick up the paint and a small brush.
The hole saw I bought yesterday did not come with an arbor, bought it separately.
They were out of the 4 1/8" (105 mm) with the arbor, so he sold me this arbor. 3/8" Arbor (Mandrel) 6L
I hope it is the correct size.
The hole saw I picked up is the 4 1/8" one.
I believe that should be suitable. I PM'd you with more info. If you are going to do this yourself and have trepidation I will pm you my cell phone number.....there really is no reason not to do this yourself if you have reasonable skills with tools.
