Rear Diff Lock or A-track in H2 while moving

I know it may be a stupid question, but because I am worried about my passenger, while asking “what does this button do”, pressing either RD lock or A-track button while I am driving on the highway going 70mph. So my question is “What if?”, what happens if I you press Rear Diff lock button or A-track button while being in High 2 (I have an Auto), and moving? I realize that in order to engage the RD or A-track one needs to be in L4 and moving 5 miles and hour and you are in H2 probably nothing will happen but still wanted to check with you guys (and gals) to suppress my paranoia. I appreciate your response

.... tell him/her you'll break his/her fingers if they push any more buttons on your rig while you are driving. That was plain stupid on their part. Luckily the computer won't let anything bad happen, but .........

Unless the transfer case is in LO, none of those will work.

The only stupid question is the one you don't ask. (or search first LOL)

Please don't try this, but I don't think you can even put it in reverse while driving. The ECU OWNS you. I accidentally put my MT6 in reverse while attempting to find first while rolling. Nothing happened, where as in my old truck you would get a nasty grind!

Re: Rear Diff Lock or A-track in H2 while moving

The manual says that if you depress the Rear Diff lock, A-Track buttons and put in Reverse all at the exact same time.......the Earth will implode.

Or the lights will just blink on your dash, and therefore the ECU owns you (thanks FJoel for the reminder).

Like Sonic said. You have to be in 4-lo for either the RD and/or ATRAC to work.

Re: Rear Diff Lock or A-track in H2 while moving

I saw this thread again forgetting I'd already read it, and wondered what you were doing driving an H2?

Sorry...

If you install the short shifter, this will eliminate the problem of putting it in reverse when trying for first, at least it did on mine. The extra effort to put in reverse makes the pattern much more noticable, you actually need to try for reverse with this kit.
