Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

Sorry to hear this.
I too have the links, but I have not put them on yet on account of no precise instructions provided from All Pro.

I have never bought from the before, this was my first time.
Many on the forum I founded/admin also have bought their stuff, I have heard mixed stories of customer service.

At this point in time, I would be very paranoid to put these on now.
I bought them for the purpose to protect the CV boots, not damage them.

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

So, the thing just unscrewed its self and the center part fell off the truck?

Did you lock the shaft down with the jam nut really well to prevent that?

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

I'm not sure if it counts as a failure if the thing just gives up and runs away. But that sucks, man. I hope this is an isolated incident and that they end up taking care of you.

Not good. Did they tell you how YOU messed it up with no instructions? If all is as you say then i am definatly turned off to them.

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

Uphill-

Below are my comments after I received and installed my set.
Tomorrow go out to your rig. Turn the wheels hard right or hard left and look at the bottom heim. Mine is jammed hard against the bolt head. Now grab the bottom joint and try to move it. Again mine is jammed, no flexibility. I believe you do need a spacer between the lower joint and the swaybar. The joint should not be touching the bolt head.

Don't get me wrong, I like the links. I bought an extra pair to keep in the rig.

If I were introducing a new product I would have taken 5 minutes to draw a diagram of the proper install procedure and copied it on the copier and sent it out with the links. How many noobs are going to have these links fall apart because they don't know how to properly tighten a lock nut.
The lock nut comment was meant to alert All Pro that there was an issue with having no machining point to grasp the link short of a pair of vice grips and again no instructions, no mention of using locktite, etc.

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

Sorry to hear about this Larry. I'm one of the few ones that don't own anything All Pro. I was considering getting their UCA's and possibly their coil overs. With customer service like that, I think I'll pass on those items from them now. Toytech has some coil overs in development and I guess I'll just get the Total Chaos UCA's. Trust in a company goes a long way when building a relationship with future buyers.

I hope they'll redeem their selves and step up to the plate on this one and offer to assist you in some way.
