FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

This is an edit of my original posting, as are the other postings in this thread.

While All Pro and I have not settled our differences, some of what I wrote here that might have seemed to be directed toward Terry Baker was not intended as an insult toward him personally. It was directed at All Pro and as the public face of All Pro, he took the hit. I personally wish Terry no ill will. I'm sure he took it wrong. If the roles were reversed, I would have.

My All Pro Ultimate Sway Bar Links failed. Photos below. All Pro redesigned them. Will the heim joints hold up? Who knows. They have engineering issues and I trust that they're seriously addressing the problem.

When I felt that my complaint was not taken seriously, I made the part failure know to the Forum. I don't think that was an irresponsible thing to have done. That's part of why we have a forum. A war of words led to escalation between All Pro and myself and a blame game ensued.

My links were properly installed to spite a lack of installation directions, but unfortunately right-left thread combinations are prone to unthreading. This was unforseen by All Pro and the links they sell now have been modified to right-right or left-left so that this problem is unlikely to happen again.

Left Front Link - Missing, but the heim joints are still there bolted in.

Even though I used Loctite on the bolt, you'll see that it is way out of adjustment and just about ready to come apart. Maybe I didn't use ENOUGH Loctite - you can be the judge of that.

...oh crap...

Im sorry that the links failed on your rig, Larry. Best of luck on the repairs.

Are you paying out of pocket for the new CV boots?

That sucks man. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure. It's very important to me to only purchase from manufacturers that stand behind their product 100%.

Oh my god that's no good. I, too, was going to buy the All Pro front bumper with light bar and sliders from them. I already have the rear upper and lower links (not installed yet). If they don't stand behind there product, I'm out.

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

I am sorry to hear this both for you and for All Pro

why not just reinforce the stock links by welding some thicker walled tubing around it like Ollie did with his rear lower links. Check it here

Re: FAILURE of All Pro ULTIMATE LINKS

I've seen links break...but to be completely MIA is a new one on me. I wonder how they did product testing?? what material is it made of? That is sad customer service. Did they even see the leftover pieces or was this all by phone?

Edit: ah ha, I see the other thread with some of my answers now

i was thinking about just reinforcing the stock links too. but then i bought the all-pro links. guess i will be doing it anyway, though.
