Mine are the PIAA 4000K. I would be a little scared to go any brighter. the brighter you go the more current has to move through the wires, hence more heat build up on the wires. Keep in mind. To go brighter i would up the AWG of the wire to handle the extra current. That would be my only concern. Or the wires may catch on fire or the jacket may melt off and cause a short. I find mine as they are pretty bright. I don't know for sure but 6000K may be alright but you might be pushing it. Just a thought.

interesting.. thanks for the input. yeah.. usually when you don't have the proper voltage, you'll see one dimmer light than the other. I'm assuming that the fuse will blow, if the car can't handle the juice. I want to go as bright as possible, but not to the point I'll get haress by the police or blind others.

Re: streetlight brightness

Reach behind the light, pull the rubber boot and squeeze the prongs together to loosen. Pull out bulb assembly and replace. All of 3 mins!

Just remember not to touch the part of the bulb that is glass-will shorten the life!

Re: streetlight brightness

I decided to try a 6K HID conversion in the stock headlight housings, incredible output and with our kit I get flashed less than my old ARB IPF bulbs I was running previously. The kit we use has a built in glare shield and I love it. Since installing my wife has demanded HID for her vehicle and they were ordered the same day. For the money ($169 for low or high beam only, $199 for HID on both hi/low) there isnt a better lighting upgrade in my opinion, I'll never go back to halogens on my personal rigs again.

Re: streetlight brightness

We have the mod express kit available - I prefer it because it has the glare guards built in, 95% of it is NOT made in China, and comes with a 1 yr warranty (most electrical has no warranty).
