Laptop mount in FJ

I am looking to add a laptop mount to the FJ. One possibility is to order a mount from a company called Ram-Mount. They make mounts that will fit 4Runners (2003 - ), Tacoma (2006 - ), Highlander (2005 - ) and Sienna (2005 - ), utilizing the passenger seat bolts as the basis for mounting the bottom base of the computer mount. See link http://www.ram-mount.com/laptop_moun...aptop_desk.htm for an image. I need to know if I can use a mount for one of the above trucks in the FJ. Can someone who has an FJ and one of the trucks listed above see if the FJ is using the same seat frames and bolting pattern?

Anybody else with any other ideas?

Bjorn

Re: Laptop mount in FJ

Ram Mount wants to sell their product, contract them that you have an FJ and want them to certify their product adapts to the seat bolts. Maybe they have checked this out already. I don't mean to get on you, but we shouldn't be doing fit checks for a company that expects to make a profit by selling in-vehicle attachments to us. By contacting them you are interested, they should figure out there is a potential market demand for the FJ.

Leave the office at home when you take out your FJ. She will become very jealous and take you out of tele-comm. range without your consent. Save the lap-top mount for your Maybach.

Re: Laptop mount in FJ

My laptop mount has a name (not Ram) and owns 50% of everything I've acquired over the years...

That might be true of the Maybach 57. Guys with Maybach 62's have their 'people' that do the laptop drudgery for them <s>. That way they can recline and open up the champagne locker between the seats.

That's an acceptable "lap-top mount" for your FJ. She doesn't mind three-ways.
