Recently I've gotten into a nasty accident and the good folks in SoCal chipped in and got me a couple of very generous gifts. First was a decked out Powertank with all the accessories that you can possibly want (Thank you Cruiserlarry and
Dirty Parts). The second was a set of Lightforce Blitz 240 with clear and yellow filters and also lighting harness. They were the lights that I've wanted to get for the longest time (Thanks to Wil of
Sierra Expedition. Just amazing. In time of my recovery, I could not thank everyone enough for their well wishes and generous gift. I truly felt guilty of accepting them both. Thanks guys.

As the weeks go by, I couldn't help but think about when I'll be able to finally use these puppies! Got the Powertank filled a couple of days ago

. Today, MudlovingFJ helped me installed the Lightforce! I have the AllPro bumper with the small hoop on the front and the Blitz 240s barely just fit! They are 9.7 inches in diameter. The holes for the wires were too small so we had to remove the hoop and drill the holes. Then it took some time to fish the wires through. Took a little while, but it was done. I wish I can say I did some of the work, but I can only credit Mud for the work. I think he knew I wasn't suppose to strain and just didn't say anything about it (Thanks Mud

). The lights were wired so they can be turned on at any time and independent of whether the high beams are on or off. I like the flexibility. The switch was a little small so Mud drilled a hole in the clip and mounted the switch in the clip. Perfect! Everything was properly crimped and heat wrapped. First class work. The wiring harness kit is really high quality stuff. Big thick gauge wires with a lot of termination options. Switch and relay are also very well made.
After a few hours we're ready to enjoy the fruits of our labor (actually MudlovingFJ, I just kind of helped him held stuff). Here are some pictures. Tomorrow, I'll take some daylight pictures of how the lights look on the FJ.
Just low beams.

As you can see, no matter whether I use low beam or high beam, the Lightforce 240 just overpowers them. I'll take some more pictures tomorrow with just high beam and with just the Lightforce on. They can be adjusted for different spread pattern with just a matter of a few turns. I'll take some pictures of the difference as well.
Thanks again Socal! Special thanks to MudlovingFJ too
