I don't unerstand this statement.

Why shouldn't Toyota honor a warranty claim?

It's a 4WD fault.

How are they going to hassle the FJC owner?

There is no way they can prove that installing a genuine part that enables a preinstalled system caused the fault--and they'd lose in court if this became a legal issue.

The more likely scenario is you bring in a truck with a 4WD fault (ATRAC induced or not) and they fix it with no hassle or lectures regardless if the computer recorded events of ATRAC use or not.

If your service staff are giving your customers imaginary warranty hassles I have no idea how the dealership stays in business aside from gouging 150% on dealer invoice parts. It's the same kind of bull**** you hear that installing larger tires causes the warranty to be void. How? They're not rubbing or hitting any resistance, even when cut all the way right and left.

The 'we'll void your warranty' is just spiel to frighten wanna be modders from damaging their vehicles and making Toyota cough up the repair costs--and it shouldn't translate to perfectly legit mod jobs like this one.

They can scour the computer all they want, but if the ATRAC breaks, they're still paying the bill.

If it's such a concern for them, they can leave it off future models.

Re: A-Trac switch install with pics

did a install for Navion at the Bonanza Fest campout
entire process took 10 minutes because I had to get my tool set out of the trail box
glad I did the long method of unbolting the 4 bolts, his wireind was stuffed back behind some other stuff
anyway we had it back together in and running so quick the guys wanting to watch were bummed, they had not even gotten over to the truck yet.

Re: A-Trac switch install with pics

Is there a non-labeled switch available yet? I need one like the subwoofer switch (single pole).
