G'Day all.. my question on the A Trac Traction Control for 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser Switch is,. will it work with 2WD automatic fj? i have the limited slip and RR lock?
thank you in advance for answering
ATRAC is a traction system for 4L, thus you need 4wd.
Ok, tell me if I did something wrong. I ordered the a-trac switch 2 weeks ago and is suppose to arrive tomorrow. Meanwhile, I practiced the "button cover take out" process and tried to activate the A-trac by wire-jumping it. I used the black-white and pink-green wires to jump but nothing happened after putting 4lo. Did I jumped the right ones? Also, does the a-trac button install works even if I didnt get RR DIFF LOCK?

Rear locking differential is a completely different function. I don't know why A-Trac wouldn't work just because you didn't order the rear locker (but I not sure). The only caveat would be if the switch for the rear differential tells the ECU that it is not activated so the proper permission is granted to the A-Trac function. Remember if the rear locker is engaged, it overrides the A-Trac switch, not the other way around.
Wait for the A-Trac switch and install it. I would not play with jumpering the wires at random. The A-Trac switch accepts a plug with four wires (I think). The A-Trac function sends a signal to the ECU and false signals (jumpers) may result in problems.
Good luck. Keep us posted.

Sorry, I was writing my post when you posted. Do you think buying and installing just the rear differential switch (I know that he will not have a rear locker function, ever) will provide sufficient signal to the ECU so the A-Trac will work?

Ok, so the thing is that if I dont have RR DIFF LOCK I cannot have the option for Atrac? Its pretty weird. Can someone who has ATRAC do the jump exercise for me to see what happens? jumping the black-white/green-pink.
Im gonna d!e if after all excitement nothing happens but a button that only lights up at night....
It doesn't work i have the ATRAC button and no rr diff locker. Hooked it up played with it for half an hour no light, no difference in 4lo. It really wouldn't be of any use for me I offroad in the sand dunes mostly. I think I'll keep it though maybe it will add value when I trade it in eventually.
The good news is it lights up at night!

So all the stuff written about the Atrac button trick only works when having the RR DIFF LOCK from factory...even though that the atrac doesnt have any relationship with RR lock function... I would like to have noticed and discused in the forum.
