Mirror lights - Help

Anyone know how to disable the Mirror lights so they dont turn on with the main headlights?

I was recently pulled over by a state trooper and been given a verbal warning to not drive with the mirror lights on.

Unfortunately I cant find any switch for the mirror lights.

Another State Trooper with a badge and nothing to do. I bet he just wanted to check out your truck. I would not worry about it.

That trooper is a dumba$$. He needs to get a warning for stupidity. Toyota is very thorough, they have done their homework and I'm sure it meets all codes and laws or they would not be there.
Screw with the idiot and change the lamps out for the Super White PIAA lamps part #19172. They will be twice as bright, he should enjoy that, then when you go to court, he'll get his a$$ handed to him by the judge.

Fill out your profile newbee, where are you from??

Its a little tricky...you have to pry the mirror...I did it from the bottom....and disconnect the lights.......be careful.......my bulbs are still in the mirror socket.
Your dealer would prolly do it for nothin.

I cannot fathom a reason why he would pull you over for that... unless they are aligned so they focus toward oncomming traffic. Does anyone know if the alignment of these mirror lights can be adjusted?

What fascist state were you driving in, anyway?

Did you ever check with the dealer to see if they could add an on/off switch?

Re: Mirror lights - Help

If you hadn't had a beer or something, inspection sticker out of date etc to where he could have made trouble, I think i would have had to get his badge and called 911 and tell them I was fearful because an officer was abusing his authority. What a freakin joke. I respect law officers and what they risk but ones like this one make it bad for the rest. He needs to either be straightened out or sent packing.
