Thumbs up Old Man Emu Rear Coils/shocks

Just thought I'd give everyone interested in rear suspension an update - I just installed the OLD MAN EMU rear coil springs and shocks (I'm a dealer, and they just sent me a set to test out). The springs ride awesome, they install easily, as they have virtually the same standing height as the original springs (but larger wire diameter and spring rate...). The OME shocks work great as they have on every vehicle I've installed them on. The spring give about 2.5 - 3" of lift. I've got the Donahoe coil-overs up front, and I had to re-adjust their height to level the front. The OME parts are not "officially" available yet, but its a big improvement over a spacer kit, and it matches up with the Donahoes nicely...

Did they happen to mention when they would be available to us non-dealers...?

My apologies - I'm new here - I'll take some pictures and post them this week. I was waiting to install the wheels and tires before I post the pics - I wanted to drive the FJ and feel the difference to the ride and handling characteristics without adding another variable to the equation... Thanks.

Since the FJ is based on the Prado chassis, they already have springs/shocks that will "fit" available in Australia (ARB - OME's parent). If you are familiar with OME products, you'll remember they usually have more than one spring rate / shock valving available for a vehicle. ARB is importing the various configurations to try out on the FJ before "officially" recommending specific part numbers for the FJ. That's where I came in. They asked if I'd try the part numbers they feel should work best, and let them know what I think. We can order these parts right now, but they are not officially recommended for the FJ yet...

On a side note, for those interested in a snorkel for the FJ, They told me they are sending an FJ Cruiser to Australia to have ARB design additional accessories for it. They know this is going to be a hot vehicle for toys, and they don't have them yet down under. I'll keep everyone posted with any info they make me privy to in this regard...

No problem, good thinking on the wheels. We'll wait patiently for the whole package. TIA.

You are correct on both counts - ome 895 coil springs, and ome n141 shocks... after driving on them for 3 days I can say the FJ rides awesome...

I also have the 895's and thinking about trying something different. I've put about 1,000 miles on them and still think they are to stiff. Even worse sitting in back.
