Ya, had to get it aligned. It was $50, guy said it wasn't off by much. I measured the spacer and it was only 1", but the truck is 2" higher now. I took measurements but it's hard to hold a tape, keep it straight and readable and take a picture and get a good results. My driveway isn't level and my before measurements were DS: 34" PS: 36". When I was done right off the jack I had DS: 37" and PS: 38.5" but after driving for a day and getting the alignment it went down to DS: 36" PS: 37" in the same spot in my driveway. I should have gone somewhere level to measure, I'll try to do that in the next few days, if somebody want's to measure their truck to the bottom of the fender flares in the center of the tire, I'll measure mine again. I'm guessing it will settle in a bit and will end up being 1.5" in time. For the Tacoma the kit lifts the front 1.5” and for some reason the 4-Runner with the same kit is only 1" lift as listed. Could be a weight thing with the polyurethane, I'm not sure. Almost feels like I need to lift the back .5" now. I'm sure it's close to level, but it feels weird now that I've had it for almost a month with the back so high. Does anybody know of a .5" rear kit? Boy would my wife kill me...
I don't think you would have any issues. Someday when I have some money I'm going to go to the 285/70-17's (33x11.5) and I don't think the 12.5's should be a problem. You may have to cut the plastic body mounts in the back of the front wheel wells, but this has been done with no issues. I plan on doing this as well, just for more clearance. I can get you some pictures to show you what I'm talking about if you would like.
just got done doing it, and thank god. It took me and my friend 4 hours and his vise has seen better days. The front is sitting about .5-1" higher than the rear though? Did yours level out eventually?
By the way, Zurn, whatever became of your ball joint boot issue?
I just tore one on my 05 4Runner. I called the local dealership and the parts guy said the same thing - that they aren't sold seperately and I would have to drop some big cash on a new upper control arm. I said "I guess I'll look for a used one" and we ended the call. 10 seconds later, the dealer parts guy called me back (musta had caller ID) and said, "Sorry, they ARE available... They are just listed in an odd place in the computer catalog." Supposedly just $14 (and this dealership always marks up over retail too).
Unfortunately, I have not laid eyes on the ball joint boot yet. It is supposedly on back order and they couldn't give me on estimate on when it would be available.
I'm not sure why Toyota hasn't made this a optional feature. This kit is the 1'' lift that's the same for the 4Runners and more or less levels the FJ cruiser's front end. Having done an install on my sister's FJ, it's a very transparent mod--it requires a realignment, but I don't know if much was done or not.
Needless to say the headlights now flash up at a higher angle and need to be realigned so they don't blind anyone.
Clearance with the 285 series Scorpions is a lot less tight in the front, even if it doesn't do much to solve the closeness of the body mount issue.
What's really cool is that you can see traffic signals again and there is no noticeable difference in handling or actual apperance of the vehicle, unless you happen to notice that it just 'looks right.'
It's cheap and makes for more space for oversized tires in the front.

reading this makes me wonder if i got the wrong kit or something. Its definately 1" higher up front than in the rear. hoping the arb bumper will bring it back level, otherwise im stuck with an FJ that leans back

It does that a bit, but the FJ already has some leaning back from a lot of towing.
