The Good:
- the bumper structural design and overall fabrication is very impressive.
- the initial fit is very good. Sliding the bumper onto the OEM studs was pretty easy. Be prepared to hold the bumper level while the first few nuts are installed, to protect the bodywork under the headlights.
- The powdercoat is thick and even.
- James is definitely interested in customer service, and wants to address any difficulties.
The Bad:
- the bumper showed up without the box it came in. And thus no hardware or fairlead option. The lights, winch and bracket reinforcements, and skidplate were packed inside the bumper, so they made it ok. James is reshipping the hardware and fairlead.
- no box also meant a few more spots of missing powdercoat, due to the Fedex handling of the bumper. Touched up with paint, no worries.
and The Ugly:
- Fedex bent the upper corner near the winch opening, such that it contacts the grille. When the bumper comes off for the winch and lights install, I'll bend it down a bit.
- There's a small amount of weld splatter near the shackle points, which I'll likely dremel down and touch up. Yes, I'm OCD like that.
Overall, I like it a lot. The bumper sticks out further than the AllPro, which I wanted due to the idiot drivers in my area. IIRC, it's 7" from the front surface to the grille lower frame. The winch mount looks like any monster will fit, but I'm going with a Warn M8000. Hopefully I'll have the winch by Friday, and the final install by Monday. I haven't bothered to check the Donahoe sag numbers yet, but will after the winch goes in.
