4x4 / Off-Road TechThis section contains all discussion related to taking the FJ Cruiser in Off-Road situations, 4x4 applications and any armor modifications.
It looks great, but enough with the grill guards and the light hoops already. Not everyone wants tubing all over the front of their rig. Plus, mounting huge off road lights way down on the bumper doesn't make much sense to me. Mount those suckers up high where they can do some good. Put the fog lights in the bumper. Let's see a basic version without any hoops or lights or winch mounts. Just a nice simple functional metal bumper. Give me some ports in the front to use the Hi-Lift and some attachement points for recovery...that's it.
BTW...this is the best looking one I've 'seen' so far.

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.
Anything you do to the bumper of your FJ will affect airbag deployment (as it was designed). That doesn't mean that it will not go off, but the parameters will be changed because the overall design of the rig has changed.

In theory, those parameters can be considered during development and accounted for to ensure no functional change. This is what ARB has claimed to consider.

Either way, I really like this bumper.
I like this one too. It really appears that it will look the best on the FJ's nose. It'll be nice to see a finished version.
We all know that the plastic factory bumper will collapse at a much different rate than any metal bumper that is created. My advice would be that if anyone is that concernced about any potential airbag deployment problems, they should just stick with what the factory gave 'em. That's how it was all designed to work.

I'm willing to live with that...this bumper is the best looking of the bunch. I've never been involved in an acident with a moving vehicle and I don't plan on it any time soon.
The All Pro makes the FJ look like a face witout a chin, IMO.
Jimmy? Do we have one post anywhere that has all 3, or is it 4 bumpers, plus the stock so we can compare sort of 'side to side'? If not, maybe you'd like creat one......(??).
