I must have the stealth, and those small lights front and back. G-man you consistenly suck. I knew i would want a Gobi rack too but there's no such thing as "preferencing" when you live under Gulf States Toyota Tyrrany. So I'm going to live with the factory rack for a while.
g-man will probably get his ARB before me too, turkey, although I guess he deserves it. He knew the product number before anyone else.
According to you, I'm the reason everyone was able to buy them without going through a Toyota Dealer.

ARB comes in late this week, early next. I'm going to be at Paragon wheeling over memorial day so even if it comes I won't have time to install it.

Unless it comes before Weds........

Re: Installed the GOBI Stealth yesterday

hmm, I don't recall that allegation. Probably true though. I know when I inquired about ordering one through a local Toyota dealer's parts department their price was exorbitant.
So G-man, are you going to get one of those Bentup rear bumpers too?

The time to order the ARB bumper is upon us

Not sure. Since I bought this thing I have been leaking money. The ARB will probably be the last thing I do for a while. Plus it would be nice to spend my weekends wheeling instead of wrenching

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

how's the wind?
Had it up to 65 mph today. The wind noise was noticable with the radio off and my foot off the gas (I have the TRD exhaust). This could be a combination of things:

I did check the fairing to make sure it had a good seal with the truck so that shouldn't be it.

Currently there are no lights mounted on the rack but the wiring that connects the front lights to the back is in place and the ends are covered in rubber banded plastic bags. I would be surprised if this was the cause of the sound, but maybe....

Even if, in the end, this rack adds wind noise over not having one I am not at all worried about it, I actually expected it. However, let's wait and see what it sounds like after everything is in place.

granger, do you know of the TRD exhaust does anything functional? I read on one thread that there may be a 5-6 HP gain. Do you know if the torque is lowered?

Good, bad or indifferent, it adds noise. There have been a lot of threads dedicated to the TRD exhaust you may want to try and dig one of those up. They have a lot more info in them then I can provide.

Re: Installed the GOBI Stealth yesterday

Man Granger, that is sweet! I can't wait to see the finished product with lights and all! I really like the ladder and I wonder why TMC didn't consider a back window that rolls into the door housing like the 4-Runners, Sequoias, or Tundra Double Cabs, do? Maybe the shape of the door, or the spare tire mount, was a limiting factor? I wonder if an aftermarket "roll down window" is possible?

Has it been rain, or car wash, tested yet??

Re: Installed the GOBI Stealth yesterday

Granger, once again, nice job. I too am anxious to see the final product with lights, but regardless, it looks great and functional.

On a "can I save more money" note, did anybody see the last post in this thread?
