Great job on the Gobi rack. Also, great job on contributing to the fourum, its refreshing to see a post with actual information that FJ owners can use.
My only question is can you wash and wax the roof with the Gobi rack installed?

You can wash it with something like this waxing is not as easy. I plan on removing the rack one a year and waxing the crap out of the roof.
Sorry, did see that question until now. I have not wired them though I know how I am going to do it now. (At least I think). Another forum member emailed me a PDF they got from Gobi that has instructions on wiring. If you do not have this yet you may want to email gobi and request it.
I am holding off wiring mine until I know what I am doing with my truck. If someone buys the whole package then I will wire them up before the sale is complete. If not and I need to sell the rack and lights seperatley I'd hate to have gone through the effort.

Ah, thanks. I'll request that PDF. Does it require drilling like CO-Jeff did?

I only looked over it for a second but it does not require drilling. If you PM me your email I can send what I have though the copy I got is a work in progress.
It looks good. That is much better than the drill option. The document is fairly clear on what to do. They run wires on both driver and passenger side. I wonder if it is possible to do them all on one side?
Also, they bring out the wiring and go up under the fairing. I think I'll look at time of install to see if it is better to do it that way, or the way CO-Jeff did, which would still be possible without drilling:
Can someone post the pdf? Many of us are wondering what instuctions it actually contained!
Well, they still are preliminary, and I haven't heard back from Gobi yet... The basic gist is: Remove the exterior panel from the A-Pillar. The wire route underneath it to the engine compartment, then you can use one of the firewall pass-throughs to get to the cab. No drilling I'll post more when:
