Re: Does size matter.... in a power tank?

I'm talking about just a portable compressor like the qmaxx.

So I am going to be ordering a power tank here this week and was wondering what size you all would recommend. There chart has a PT10 filling ~20 (5 rigs) 295/75/16 tires 20psi, and a PT15 can fill ~30 tires(7.5 rigs) a PT20 can fill ~40 tires(10 rigs). What do you all think?

I am leaning to a 15 should I go even bigger or maybe smaller.
The 10 pounder is the easiest to fit in the vehicle - it will stand up or lay down on the driver's side rear shelf. Also, if you need to carry it around, it's (obviously, I guess) lighter. I think you are better off with 2 10 lb tanks than 1 20 lb tank...

Thanks Larry. So the tanks can be laid down or do you recommend standing them up.

The coupon is only good for ONE power tank system other wise I would think more about going with the 2 10's

I really don't like those, all the ones I have seen take for ever to fill a tire.

Re: Does size matter.... in a power tank?

4.5 min to fill a tire from 20 psi to 35 (stock). It's not CO2, but it's acceptable.

The tanks can be lay on it's side, but when you use it, it should be standing.

Re: Does size matter.... in a power tank?

I have the 15lb version and have mounted it upright on the shelf on the left side of the cargo area. However, I cannot mount the handle to the Powertank because it hits the ceiling. Not a problem for myself as I can airup with the tank mounted, but if I want to take the tank out, having no handle makes it awkward.

Re: Does size matter.... in a power tank?

Thanks homedad for the measurements to the top of the valve. Rep to you!

I think I will ether go with a 10 or 20 depending on what fits, I see no reason to do the 15 when the 20 is the same height. I built some drawers in the back so that eats up some height. I will have to take a close look at my rear and see what I can do.
