Josh, make IE proud. Be the one to provide a few locations. You are our SoCal IE rep!
O great now were really in trouble. I think I found a place in Temecula, but I still need to call them up and call up some shops in Hemet/San Jacinto.

The new Powertank came in today, it looks great.

I will mount it up tonight.

I am interested in one of these but I have a 3yo that likes to climb around the truck and turn all the knobs... Is there a way to "child-proof" these so he doesn't climb back there, turn the knob and kill himself??

Mine is stored in a Powertank bag. You can put a small lock on the zipper if you want.

There is also a bag that came with mine that just covers the valves. I will check it out tonight and post a pic with it on.

I also have a good lead on a place in town that will fill it.

Nope I still haven't called around. I need to though so I have it ready for Mojave run.
FYI, AirGas in SoCal is a good source for CO2 and they will do the fill while your wait.

There is a location in Temecula if that helps.

Here's a link to AirGas in the Hemet Vicinity:

Thanks, that was the place I was looking at, but the place in Hemet should be good, I hope cause I would rather not have to drive out of town to fill my tank.

Re: Does size matter.... in a power tank?

Beware that the price for a fill can vary considerably and the smaller tanks cost nearly as much to fill as the larger ones. There are generally three types of businesses that will refill your tank. Welding supply places, Beverage gas suppliers and Fire Extinguisher services. The Fire extinguisher people sometimes get fussy and refuse to fill anything other than a fire extinguisher, so YMMV on that one. Your cylinder will need to be hydro tested every five years and usually the place that fills the tanks will send the tanks out somewhere else to have it tested and certified. It can sometimes take awhile to get your tank back, so check the certification date and plan ahead. Both the tare weight (empty cylinder weight) and the date of the last hydro test should be stamped into the cylinder usually up on the shoulder portion of the tank. I think new tanks are good for five years from the manufacture date, but they should still have the tare weight stamp. You can weigh the tank to figure out how much gas you have remaining.
