Re: Front body mount CHOP!

Nice work.

It also goes to show that the FJC has its guts from other trucks, since not everything seems to fit right.

Nice work, I did the same but no, replacement plate.

Could be getting into some structural integrity issues here.

Actually, I am not sure if it does. Tacoma owners have been doing this mod for years.

Some would say YES....could be an issue...but, once cut and boxed in, I dont forsee any problems. If it were NOT boxed in, then you might have an issue...

Tonight I finished the other side....much easier when you have done it already!

I am running stocker rims, and going to mount 285 MTR's when they come in.

Installing a revtek 3" lift this weekend.

You may or may not know, there is a nasty body mount on the front of the FJ....

So tonight I decided to chop it away...drivers side is DONE!

Very nice. I like that method best so far.

Here's my question (plea)... Is there ANY chance that you would be able to test fit 35" MTR's on it? That is EXACTLY what I want to do but it would save alot of time if someone that already had it cut and that had access to a tire shop that owed them a favor could give it a quick look.

Almost did that yesterday....MIGHT try it today...My tacoma has 35" MTR's, but they are on a 15" rim...That and the offset is probably way too little to clear the caliper. Just might give it a try though for sh!ts and grins.

You could temporarily Hang the caliper while you tested the 35s, They unbolt easy...
