What's your take on it. I guess it just works like an acordian. Sounds to easy and don't know about durability. Chime in with your thoughts.

Re: Diff Breather option? Check this out

Doesn't look like it protects from water intake, as in crossing streams. Nice if it did. What does the sales pitch say?

Creeper Breather - Differential Breather Kit
Prevents dirt, debris and water from getting in to your axle through the stock axle housing breather. Expands and contracts to accommodate increase or decrease in housing pressure. Kit includes one housing fitting, clamp and bellows (as shown). Easy installation takes just a few minutes. No hoses to route. Fits all Toyota Pickup / 4Runner solid axle housings (front or rear).

Note: This product is not compatible with the Trail-Gear rear axle 4 link upper link mount kit.

Differential Breather Kit, $19, 140207-1-K

Not compatible with the trail gear rear axle!!! WTF!!! I will stick with the tried and true mod that has been installed by most FJC owners!!!!

Re: Diff Breather option? Check this out

If it works OK, this might be something to install at the top of an extended hose. Not sure I trust it down at axle level.

Re: Diff Breather option? Check this out

It traps pressure similar to an overflow tank on a coolant system and is not a true "breather". I would be leary that too much pressure may cause failure. I'd go with the proven "up high" method.

Re: Diff Breather option? Check this out

Agreed, most of the work involves replacement of the nipples at the diff and actuator. Routing the hoses is the easy part. Actually, it's all pretty easy.

Re: Diff Breather option? Check this out

There's at least one other thread on this same breather option as well. You may want to use the search feature if your so inclined.
