JBA has headers for the FJ

I haven't seen any mention of them yet, I ordered a set through my company so if they're shipping I should have them in the next week or so.

Interesting. I have the TKD exhaust system on mine. Not the headers. Do you know if this would merry up to that system? Also, is there any warranty issues?

They're like most all shorty headers, they are direct replacements for the factory manifolds. It keeps the original mid pipe and all original mounting.

I haven't worried about a warranty for many years. I figure if I mod a vehicle and I cause issues with that system it's my fault. So if my exhuast starts rattling after I put these on I most likely would fix it myself. If my radio goes out after I put them on, I'll take it back to the dealer.

Do you know if they will pass smog here in Calif? Too many aftermarket parts aren't CARB exempt! Post your location so we all can know where you are....please,jr.

I can only assume they have a CARB number based on this...
::Header Features::
• 3/8" thick laser-cut flanges
• Mandrel-bent stainless steel primary tubes
• Patented JBA Firecone® merge collector
• JBA sealing rings on head flange
• Provisions for all factory emissions equipment
• Premium quality hardware and gaskets included
• Will not void factory warranty
• Optional ceramic coating (thermal barrier)
50 state smog legal

BTW, I'm in New Mexico.

Re: JBA has headers for the FJ

JBA is out of San Diego, so I would assume they would be Cal. legal.

When you get yours installed, would love to hear an update. Power, gas economy, etc.

I'm fairly sure I won't have a A-B comparison since I plan on installing them within the first weekend or two of the vehicle arriving. I will report what I can though.

Exclamation Re: JBA has headers for the FJ

You guys who actually take your vehicles off-road and don't race them on the road should not be considering the headers or exhaust mods. Check the dyno chart on JBA's site for the 4.7 vvti with both and you'll get an idea of what I mean. I don't get my engine over 3k often and I have an MT FJ. So, why would I want to throw away my low-end torque for more power in an unusable part of the engine?? Also, remember, the reason you DON'T want to rev your engine too high, is the long stroke of it. Longer stroke engines induce more wear at the same engine speed as shorter stroke engines (like the nissan xterra's). This is the final warning: Stay away from exhaust mods!!!!
