Had been doing my research and decided the asked amount for a spare tire mounted gas can assembly was unreasonably priced. Decided to fabricate my own holder, with a few modifications to both add strength and ease removal over the models I have seen.
Started out with some 16 guage squeare tubing and some creative cutting.
Cage welded and cross braces tacked in place. Perfect fit for a 5 gallon Blitz metal gas can.
Finished product before polishing welds and paint application.
Final finished product, minus installed strap and turnbuckle to hold can down.

Updated with pictures of the turnbuckle and can in palce

That is way cool. I wish at times I could do something like that. Even be able to make something out of metal would be nice. Good Job. You going to make a bunch and sell them?

I was thinking about it, but the amount of care and detail I put into the things I fabricate it would not be cost effective, as I could not sell it for the amount of time I put into it. Plus, I like the idea of having mods all over my car I know no one else has... selfish much???
