Re: Demello Front Bumper Thread

Well, I don't actually own an FJ, so my opinion shouldn't matter much, I am just basing it off experiance. I own a 2nd gen Xterra and have a Shrockworks bumper. This bumper comes with a full front skid that goes from the bumper to the lower part of the crossmember. I have hit this skid on plently of rocks and the skid helped me up and over them. The first gen Xterra's with the ARB bumper has more of a design like the DO and people often hit that flat spot on a rock and get hung up.

I have always been one to take function over form. I don't care if it looks odd as long as it serves a purpose.

Is the winch line hole pointing at the ground at a (close to) 45º angle?

If it is and you are doing a flat pull the winch line would come out and bend at a 45º angle putting un-needed stress on the line where it meets the fairlead. If you are doing a pull up then it could require the line to bend at a 90º. The only way I can see this winch line position to be any good would be if you were at the top of a hill and winching someone up.

Oh, and as for the hoops, I like the drivers side where it dips before it meets the center hoop. The passanger side looks like it's sloped (from the angle of the photo).

Re: Demello Front Bumper Thread

I like it...without the DO. My vote goes for the single hoop....but something would need to be done with the skid plate underneath. I don't know...it looks kind of.....unfinished???? I don't know if that's the right word, but...

Re: Demello Front Bumper Thread

Love the single hoop design. Looks much cleaner and more professional than the all-pro. Let me know when you put it into production. So far a my favorite. Also like the Expedition One, but have not heard or seen more from them in over three weeks.

Re: Demello Front Bumper Thread

I like how high it sits. It seems to have the benefits of a tube bumper, but the good looks of a plate. Oh, and I like the more O shaped hoop like everyone else.

goes to the exposed comment...I understand the need for airflow and it's a witch of a radiator. The bumper looks great, but feel like I look at it and see radiator more than the bumper. But that's just my stupid opinion.
