nice bumper dude, not sure where you live and what conditions u drive in but up north in canada we put a licence plate on my fairleads attached to the 2 fairleads with some maglight clips. helps keep the dirt and pixies out of the winch

like this hxxp://4x4icon.com/offroad/winch/ scroll down near the bottom of page
The fair-lead will be staying for a little while, at least till I get the lift done. Then I will change it out to an aluminum Hawse fair-lead and synthetic cable.

I will probably run without a license plate until I get a ticket, I would prefer to not have one. I guess I like taking risks and defying the law! Ha! I know, I'm a nerd....

Very sweet! I guess I'll get to see it in person in about three weeks, assuming you're still On for the 4x4 Tour in Telluride at the end of the month. Then we can have a BIG FJ contest.

The lift is gonna hurt too, but I got to do it soon, since the added weight on the front lowers it an inch.
How much does the bumper weight without the winch? Is it concievable to add the bumper and not lift if there is no added winch weight?

Thanks,

Thanks,

Yes, the bumper by itself is 77 pounds, so you can get away without a lift. Someone here said the stock bumper is 30-40 pounds of stuff. You are really just adding 40 pounds or so without a winch.

All I'd like is a receiver hitch instead of a winch mount and I'm in! Thanks.

I would like to thank GSGMAC for his invaluable aid in the bumper/winch install. Mine is now complete, probably saved $250.00 doin it myself which would have been much more difficult or impossible without his assistance. I appreciate your time and efforts to help us all......

Your welcome, I'm glad I could help. Post a pic or two when you get a chance.

Cheers,
