My favorite person (the UPS delivery person) just dropped off my new sliders from Demello Offroad. I ordered the bare metal sliders with the intention of painting them myself. I did a quick test fit and they fit perfect. Installation took 15 minutes with a 13mm ratchet. I will paint them in a couple of days and take a few more pictures after they are installed. Overall, I'm very pleased with the sliders. Great design, outstanding quality, very strong and very clean welds. I'm sure they will take a lot of abuse.

I'm jealous...according to the UPS tracking, mine should arrive on Friday. I have an appointment with the local Rhino Lining guy to spray them. I guess the UPS guy could get to San Jose (I grew up on Los Gatos) faster than Raleigh NC from SoCal.

Any issue with having to move the brake line to mount them? On the factory rails the mounting bracket is notched to fit over the brake line at the rear attachment point.

Do they stick out far enough to use as a step? On the factory rails there's only enough room for your toes. When I put a lift on and bigger tires my kids may have a harder time getting in without some form of step.

I removed the brake cable mount and pulled the cable out away from the frame while installing them. I did not try to reinstall the brake cable mount as this was just a quick test fit before painting the sliders. However, I don't think the cable will go back into place with these sliders.

Yes there is enough room to use the sliders as a step. I had the factory rock rails and my son struggled to get in the FJ. He used the sliders to get in today and they worked great for a step. Here's a picture of the area that you can step on.
