Re: POLL: Have you had your LCA nut/bolt loosen up?
I have the All-Pro LCA. Its the red ones, the really heavy ones! I used the stock bolts. Never had an issue since it was installed. I did tho re-tighten the bolts at about 500 miles later. And it was still tight.

You should loosen by the bolt, the nut has ridges on it to make it "lock" in place. Don't know what this type of "lock nut" is called, but very effective. And no I have never had problems with these coming loose, I have ICON LCA's.
Huh... I wonder if mine are different or something. It just looks like a normal nut and bolt to me. I have found the opposite to be true... it was much easier to break the nut than the bolt.

The nuts are metal with nylon threads the entire thing is not plastic
The ones I have use are all steel including the threads, but they have a tight nylon "O" ring that is pressed into the top of the nut that gets cut-in by the threads on the bolt so it digs in and offers much resistance to backing off.

Once
LR axle
AllPro Ultimate LCAs w/ Johnny Joints
Loctite, new bolts/nuts, and torqued down to spec
Have checked them a couple of times since and they do not seem to have come loose.

Isn't that the same thing? I'm confused can you post up a link...they are all steel with a nylon lining but the threads are steel, pretty sure we're talking about apples and apples here

We may be talking about the same thing. I've never seen any nylon on the threads thought, unless I misunderstood. I don't have any spares handy at the moment but will see if I can get a pic. DEWFPO
