Rock Rails

I have tried several times to contact both Bentup and Demello about sliders. So far no one has answered the phone. Only an answering service. I left messages at both places but no one has returned my calls. How can they do business this way?!! Anyone else have this problem? Tomorrow I am calling All-pro. The first people that actually contact me or answer the phone will get my business.

Can only speak for my interactions with DeMello...excellent. Exchanged a couple emails (answered in a day), talked on the phone once, made the order on-line, received email confirmation of order with expected ship date, received call from them before they shipped to make sure I didn't want them powder coated, shipped on the day they promised, received email confirmation of shipment with UPS tracking number, watching them crawl across the country to be delivered Friday. Ordered 6/25, UPS delivery 7/7, not bad in my eyes.

All in all, I couldn't have asked for better service. I know others that have had similar experience with Bentup but I can't speak personally for them. I could only expect that you caught them with post-holiday catch up. Regardless, I would expect that any of them would be glad to have your business, it just depends on which ones you prefer and how fast you need them on your FJ.

Re: Rock Rails

Not in a hurry. I just like to talk to someone in person. Maybe I should have more patience. Why didn't you want them to powdercoat?

Re: Rock Rails

Not sure what goes on in other shops, but my fab guy won't answer the phone if he's in the middle of welding/working on something. He doesn't have "office staff" (besides me ). Did you leave a message? I can't imagine them not calling you back when they got the chance...

I'm considering using the Rhino Lining process or I'll just paint them myself. I get the impression that the Rhino Lining may be more durable, particularly on the "non-skidding" surface, not as prone to chipping. At least, that has been my experience with the process in truck beds. I don't expect miracles on the skidding surface, that will have to be refinished with rattle-can paint as needed.

But, the Rhino guy here quoted me a price of ~$200 and I think that is steep. I have a couple guys within a decent drive and once I get them, I'll get a more formal quote.

Re: Rock Rails

To each their own on picking sliders I guess I'd be more interested in design/price than phone call. Oh wait, then again, I have sliders
