So I decided that I wanted to build my own sliders. While there are some great products here on the forum (BudBuilt, Demello, All-pro, etc.) I just decided that I wanted to build something myself (with a little help from my friends). I wanted something different that not what everyone else has(no offense) and I wanted to save a little coin in the process (material cost me under 100)
So I decided to head down to Simms in San Jose and I picked up 16 feet of 2"x5" .120 dom tube, 7 feet of 2" flat stock and 6 feet of 6" flat stock. Thus Project Overkill was started and my mpg will go down a little.
I'm also going to make these in to airtanks so I can power my pneumatic blender.
Frame Standoffs
In Process
drivers side done (rough still need to grind welds and paint)
Tucked in nice and tight with enough room to stand on
I just like this photo
This is how we got around the e-brake cables
Just another shot of the rails bolted to the frame
We still need to tap the rails for air-fittings as well as grind some of the welds down and paint or course. I'm not doing line-x after talking with Sol about his adventures with Line-X and the Rubicon.
So far I'm very happy with how these have turned out.
More to come.

Problem is once you start a project like this you want to get cool tools like a hydraulic tubing bender, Millport, laser etcher, CNC Plasma Cutter, and the list goes on.
Thank goodness I live close to TechShop, I'm going to get my membership there so I can start fabbing things myself. Nothing quite like building things yourself.
