Oil Filters

Before i bought my beloved FJ i owned a Jeep Grandcherokee, the oil filter i used was a bigger size than the original, thus IMO gave me more filtration and flow..

What size bigger can i use on my FJ? And what brand is recommended?

Thanks!

Re: Oil Filters

It isn't bigger, but uses much better filter material for better flow: Purolator One. Check out the Oil Change thread: Oil Change?

If you want bigger, but still paper filtration, you can get the TRD filter...

Re: Oil Filters

K&N and Wix(Napa Gold) are personal favorites and the data supports them as choices. You will love the 1" nut on top of the K&N.

Re: Oil Filters

Hey thanks for the quick replies guys, and the link bigbill25..

I will try the purolater one quoted by SwissArmySuv

Tip: Use the Purolator filter PL24457 in place of the PL10241. Same dia etc. except is 4" tall. Stock Toy filter is 3 3/4" tall and PL10241 is like way short!
I feel bigger filter = more total surface area and better filtering. Also feel
that bigger filter will give a longer life for the 5,000 mile oils. (IMO)
