part time 4wd

i have the auto 4x4 with part time 4wd. got stuck and had to pulled out by dad (i'm 36). while trying to get out by myself, dad noticed the two front tires were doing nothing and it was in 4lo with all the correct buttons on. was i doing something wrong? help please

Stuck in what,mud or on the rocks? "Front tires doing nothing" as far as spinning?

Did you put it into 4wd after getting stuck ???... If so, the front axle might
not have had a chance to line up the splines with the sleeve and engage...

This has always been a slight issue with non-manual hub systems...

But, I may be talkin' out my Arse' too... That would be my best guess tho...

The best idea when going into something that might be possibly a place you
may get stuck, engage the 4wd ahead of time and make sure the indicator
light in on and not flashing...

any noises/grinding?
was it all the way into 4lo?
was it in drive?

Did you notice if the green 4wd light was lit on the dashboard?

wow the questions

stuck in dirt ditch/sandy dirt
buried up to transmission/had to dig that out
in 4lo before getting stuck
front tires weren't moving at all
not sure about light on dash
truck was in reverse
no funny noises

dad said it could be a result of part time 4wd
does that make any sense

I would give it a test before worring too much since you did not remeber if the light was on or not...

So pull off the road somewhere on dirt, and give er' another try. (loook for the light)
