Mile Marker 8000lb winch any good?

I was in Costco today and saw an 8000lb winch. Just wondering if anybody knows about it, what do you think of it, and how is the price? Thanks!

Re: Mile Marker 8000lb winch any good?

Found this thread. Seems to say that the winch is not worth the money and you are better off buying a Warn. I'd love to see a review or two of any of these winches. Links anyone?

Re: Mile Marker 8000lb winch any good?

My Jeeper buddy bought a MM winch two years ago and it quit working (for no reason) within the first couple of uses. He returned it for a new MM winch and that one quit working the first time he used it. He ended up returning the MM in exchange for a Warn M8000. If you can afford it, spend the extra $200 it's well worth it. Shop around if you are going to buy a Warn as they are typically on sale somewhere. I purchased my M8000 at 4 Wheel Parts over the Memorial Day weekend and it was $450 after all the discounts and cash cards.

Re: Mile Marker 8000lb winch any good?

It looks like it will "FIT" inside the stock bumper case (this is what i will be doing with my Warn once I get it)...

...and of course you will need to build a mount that attaches to the frame rails...

But I would not attached it just to the stock crush bumber under the bumper case...
