Graham- before you go bonkers, give me a call. No need to get pissed, there's no grinding anything.

Something was done incorrectly- I have put on dozens of these myself, just did one yesterday in fact.

You took it to TOR, right? Did he reassemble the coilover correctly (spring wrap & orientation) per his TIS?

I'm not sure how this got mucked up, but I can help you.

Okay, I will see you later this morning. I am sure you can help.

Sorry, did not mean to pull the fire alarm on the lift kit, it was late and I starting seeing dollar signs adding up to fix it.

gsgmac:
Donahoe Racing Coil-overs Come with a relocation bracket for the sway bar. This bracket moves the sway bar forward to clear the larger assembly. Maybe this is what you need, maybe not, just a thought. Good Luck!

Re: TOYTEC Lift Installed Today

So I have too eat a piece of humble pie here, I pushed the "my lift is jacked" panic button too soon last night. All is well and the OME lift works great. The root cause was the result of not tightening the sway-bar bolts on the control arm (I believe) and that caused it to rub. Reggie and I had to hurry to finish up last night and missed a step...oops.

I took it over to Toyota of Dallas this afternoon and Chris (Valkyrie) was able to diagnose and repair the issue in five minutes, for free! He has always given me the best customer service and this is no doubt a testament to that, I should have called him first since he is a Toyota lift guru. My apologies to anyone who might think the OME kit had an issue from my comments.

All is well and the lift looks great, I will post some pics and a write up this evening.

Thanks again Chris for all your support and advise. You have a customer for life now.

Sweet!!! We'll disconnect the swaybars, pull the step bars and wheel the hell out of it

I'm glad it was something simple.. I can't (and I won't) tell you how many times I've missed something simple that I just couldn't figure out!

BTW, you still owe Mike a coke!

Spot me the coke for Mike, heck I buy him a six pack. Does he like regular or unleaded?

I called up Reggie tonight and went down to his shop and re-clocked both front coils and struts. There is an eyelet on each bottom plate that needs to be facing in (towards the engine) so the highest point on the bottom plate and spring faces towards the sway bar. The passenger side was still rubbing a little bit after I left Toyota of Dallas, but after Reggie re-clocked them both, there is plenty of room. Lesson learned, Reggie (Toyotatech1) now knows the drill on the OME lift now. He did the whole deal (basically uninstalling and reinstalling the front suspension) in 40 minutes. Quick and efficient.

Here is the end result after some "proper" off-road testing at a construction site near by (dirt is pretty too):
