What the Gear Fairy left at my shop door

I've been a Good Boy this year, always minding my P's and Q's, and not being too obnoxious in political threads on the forum
As everyone knows, the Gear Fairy delivers presents to deserving wheelers on or around Labor Day every year.

The Gear Fairy drives a big brown truck, who knew?

It's even the right color! The Gear Fairy sees into your heart, and knows the color of your rig!

Now I know why I didn't make any plans for Labor Day weekend, although I may have to work over the weekend so maybe I'll start now.

Re: What the Gear Fairy left at my shop door

Yup, just checked the UPS tracking page, and sure enough, my package was delivered to the wrong address... grrr....

I'll bring my rig over as soon as I get off work, and pick up my package Lee...

Edit: I don't remember ordering a blue one, though...

Re: What the Gear Fairy left at my shop door

quick question because i have no idea about the inchworm. Does this completely replace the transfer case with a higher ratio, say 4:1 or something? or is this an addition to the transfer case?

I am a newb to this.

Okay, did some research, it replaces the transfer case or you can add it on somehow extra, got it.

Thanks Dennis; it's an Inchworm Lefty transfer case with 4.7:1 low-range gears. The stock low-range transfer case is only 2.56:1, so I'll be essentially doubling my final crawl ratio. As a side benefit, I will also lose the 3-1/2" drop of the larger (chain-driven) stock transfer case and the resultant low exhaust pipe and low frame cross-member that go with it - I'll end up with a perfectly flat bottom with more than 3" of extra clearance. I'm pretty excited to get it in.

Re: What the Gear Fairy left at my shop door

Aw, man, I'm really green, now!

So, you keep the higher range gearing (stock ratio), but gain the 4.7:1 low range? Sweeet....

Yup, you're gonna leave all of our jaws dropping when you climb obstacles that we'll just bog on... man, oh, man!

I can tell you from personal experience, you will be a very happy wheeler once you get it installed. I love mine and wouldn't give it up for any other mod I have.

When you get to upgrading/moving your cross-member, please share because that is something I haven't done yet and need to do.

Enjoy...
