Converting the MT into 2wd..
Searched, but didn't find anything, your are allowed to virtually slap me if its been posted before...
So I was wondering if anyone had tried to do some conversions to turn the all-wheeled drive on the Manual Transmissions into 2wd, then be able to use the 4HI and 4L the same. I'm sure it can be done, just wondering if anyone has tried it.

Why on earth would you want to do that?
What added value would that have to your FJ?
You guys must be really bored up north?

I don't think you're going to see any noticeable difference switching to part-time 4wd. Besides, I think you'll run into trouble with that center diff...

I'd think you could take a tacoma or a land cruiser and do some part swapping to get this to work.... I just don't think theoretically it would be that hard. I'm basically trying to 1: find out if its possible, and 2: find out why toyota didn't do it.

You will need to change out your center differential. For us part time 4x4 guys I was wondering if anyone has put on locking hubs yet?
