Synthetic Winch Line
I am considering swapping out my steel winch cable (that came with my Warn M800) and going to a synthetic line.
I have used my winch now many times (including saving my rig from sliding off the trail and into a gorge last week end) and the cable has a couple of nasty kinks in it.
The steel cable is really difficult to work with and wind back properly (neatly) onto the spool.
I am looking at this product from Expedition Exchange, but it's a little pricey (although the price of a new rig would be considerably more
).

What do you think?

X2 on winchline.com.
Also remember to buy the safety thimble on the line and delrin rollers to replace the steel rollers you have now.

Re: Synthetic Winch Line
Thanks bernd - are you using the 5/16" or the 3/8" line?
These look good.
I think this is the same set up that uphill is using as well.

Re: Synthetic Winch Line
99% of the people in the wheelin' world would be better off with synthetic line.....
I live in the desert were it's hot and covered in sharp rocks....
I NEED to stick with steel.....
BUT....The nasty kinks you mention are a VERY serious problem....so you gotta' buy something!!!
I don't know how or were you wheel.....But dragging line over sharp rocks is your only real concern with synthetic....
