Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

First of all, the China vs US thing, I thought it was pretty silly. Isn't the point of capitalism the best product at the best price? For that matter, its pretty weak for all us that drive a Toyota vehicle that is made in Japan to be saying "Don't buy Chinese, buy American." Look, if we all bought American, we'd have Jeeps or Hummers. Does anyone want to go down that road?

As for the TG vs Demellos, I'm wrestling with this quandry myself. I like both of them, and I think both of them would be adequate sliders. Two weeks ago when I was down in LA, I called Demello to see if I could swing by and pick up a set of sliders. Unfortunately they were completely out. I may still end up getting a set next time I'm in LA, but it very difficult to pass up the a set of TGs that are two hundred cheaper. It is pretty tempting to get the TGs and put the $200 that I save towards new Demello bumpers and an Icon lift.

On a side note, from the brief conversation I had with Jack at Demello, I automatically knew I would be shopping with them again. Jack was cool enough to tell me that none of the sliders were in the shop and they were all out being powdercoated. He even got my number and then called the powdercoater to see how fast they could get one set done, and then called me back to let me know when they would get the first set back to the shop. Unfortunately I was heading back to the Bay Area on Sunday and they wouldn't get any back until Tuesday, but I was highly impressed. I can't wait until I finish paying off the FJ so I can go get the Demello bumpers.

I think it boils down to: if you want the best that money can buy, get the Demellos. If money is no issue (and unfortunately for my unpaid off FJ, it has to be) then get the Demellos. Hands down, they appear to be the best out there. If want a very good product, for a very good price, then go for the trail gears.

And yes, after typing all this, I am still up in the air as well. It is a tough decision to make.

Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

Oh man, this does bring back a memory or three. What did you do Jeshua, search the forum under "hot dog"?

Being a TG slider owner with absolutely no complaints (and at the same time drooling over Demello products).........Notice how much closer the Domello slider is to the hot dog?

Maybe this will help, plus it will bring back some good memory for some.

Try both of our e-mails, sometimes they don't make it through. If you don't get a response in 24hours we never got it. Mine even goes to my cell phone and I will usually respond pretty quick. jason@demello-offroad.com and or sales@demello-offroad.com

Thank you for the kind words about Jack I wish we could sell our sliders cheaper but until they make sweat shops in California legal again I don't know how we can

Only illegal when you get caught

There must be plenty of cheap labor in SoCal

Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

Also forgot to add... I think the Trail gear provides more protection against door dings
