No... it boils down to which ones you want. I'm not made out of money, but I can certainly afford whatever rock rails I want... I wanted the TG for the body protection and as a step for the kids.

Why are we making such a big deal over this. I've seen political discussions resolved faster.

I agree... Its all in your priorities and how you weigh the benefits of each. I chose trail gear because they're $200, they make great steps for the girlfriend, and because they help to protect from door dings in addition to excellent body panel protection off road. I have heard nothing but great things about each of them.
