LOL! this thread is funny!

Demello makes their products in the USA with USA steel by USA employees. Demello has great customer service and they build high quality products.

Trail Gear outsources the building of their products to China. So, they are made in China with poor quality Chinese steel by Chinese workers. Yes they are cheaper, but you get what you pay for.
You do know that the FJ is made in Japan with japan steel made by Japanese workers right? I don't think the steel or location makes a difference but rather the design of the product.

Your point about where the FJC's are made and by whom is irrelevant to this discussion. Toyota is known for manufacturing quality vehicles and yes I'm well aware of that fact that Toyota is a Japanese company and the FJC's are built in Japan.

I agree with your point about design, but I strongly disagree that the quality of materials used doesn't make a difference in the final product quality. The raw materials used in the manufacturing process have a direct impact on final product quality. You could have the best design in the world, but if you use inferior materials during the manufacturing process, your final product quality will be sub-par.

This thread isn't about Chinese, Japanese or Americans, it's about the fact that Trail Gear sells products that are low quality. They outsource a lot of their product manufacturing to China in order to lower their manufacturing costs. Through that process they have lowered they product quality by doing business with manufacturing companies, in this case in China, that use low grade or low quality raw material in the manufacturing process which leads to sub-par final product quality. I applause TG for their capitalist approach to making a buck, but their quality is terrible IMO.

DEMELLO ALL THE WAY! They are beautiful, tough as hell, and they are a great company to support. No question, buy from them!

Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

I'm not so sure the design of the trail gears are better than Demello's light sliders... Why would the trail gears be a better design(ignoring materials)?

Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

I also would vote Demello Offroad
theirs run almost the full length of the wheelbase, the trail gears stops about a foot before the rear tire. I can show you a large dent in the side of my truck that proves that is a bad design. I slid the rail on a rock and when there was no more rail, drop, Wham, almost a hole in my truck.

I went with the cheaper option but I wish I didn't now

Re: Demello VS Trail gear sliders

Maybe this will help, plus it will bring back some good memory for some.

Japan has very good quality, but China has very poor quality in everything. I prefer to spend allot more in U.S. products or Japan Products than Chinese products. Sorry but I have had very bud experience with China and Taiwan products.
